THANKYOU, 2013

Syson, Nottingham

(The title of the work written in Greggs shorthand as Neon wall sculpture)

Shorthand was a language invented by men predominantly used by women in the workplace before the advent of technology and the computer replacing the role of the secretary.

Shorthand is a dying language and a personal language, one where it is only the writer who ever needs to translate it back, therefore I have deemed this set of signs and symbols (which are phonetic and not based on an alphabet) as the ultimate feminine aesthetic.
